Our Story
Greetings and welcome to our site. We’re Rick and Lisa and we’re happy you found us!
We are a faith driven husband and wife team and proud parents and grandparents. After completing a long military career we found ourselves at a crossroad. Faced with a life choice, we decided to take a leap of faith and retire early to follow our dream of less work, more travel.
We made a plan, saved what we could, decluttered our life, and marked a date on the calendar to begin our new chapter in life. With encouragement from family and friends and the strength of our faith, we followed our dream and took our life in a new direction.
Along the way, we came up with the idea of starting our Blog to document our retirement and travel journeys and to share our experience (both good & bad) with a like-minded community.
We invite you along as we turn our dream into reality and hope to inspire others along the way.

Rick
Born in California and raised in Oklahoma, Rick is an Army veteran and a self-described saver and planner who never met a “checklist” that he didn’t like.
Rick has enjoyed all thing outdoors his entire life and is an aspiring photographer/videographer.
He met Lisa in High School and somehow convinced her to marry him and they have been together ever since. He values his faith, family, and the freedom of travel.
Lisa
Originally from Kansas, Lisa’s passion is her family. She has a heart as big as the Kansas sky and loves spending time with her grandkids.
As a military spouse, Lisa lived abroad in Europe and Asia and throughout the US. She enjoys travel, exploring new locations and trying different cuisines.
An avid reader, Lisa is a self-described introvert who thrives in spontaneity and never met a “checklist” she liked.
Our Rig
Our tow vehicle is a 2010 GMC Sierra 2500HD that we purchased new. Over the years, we have added a few accessories to include tow mirrors, a tonneau cover and bike rack. He still runs great and they say the best truck is a “paid off truck”.
Our travel trailer is a 2017 Airstream International that we purchased used. At 27’ long, she is just the right size for our adventures and provides all the comforts of home. While there is no perfect RV, our Airstream is perfect for us.
Our Home Base
When we're not traveling, we enjoy resting at our home base located in South Carolina. We bought the house and property following our time as full-time RV travelers.
Since buying the property, we have made several upgrades, most notably was the addition of a back driveway and our RV Pole Barn which we call the "Airstream Airport".
