We FINALLY Installed Our Airstream Flooring!!! (It Wasn't A Disaster)

After several months and multiple repairs to the Airstream we were finally ready to install our new vinyl plank flooring. This project was a longtime coming and we could hardly wait to complete this final repair so we can hit the open road once again. We have never undertaken a DIY project like this, but what’s the worst that could happen?

Once we completed the repairs to the Airstream (Front End Seperation) and ensured the water leak had been sealed, it was just a matter of finding the right type of flooring we wanted to install. We ended up selecting a waterproof vinyl plank flooring from Lowes. We liked the color and the price was right.

I just want to be clear and say that this isn't a How To video, but rather a little bit of on-the-job training for me. At the end of the day, if we didn't like the flooring, we could always rip it out and have a professional install some new flooring for us...but what fun would that be?

During the video, I show a few tips and tricks that I learned along the way. Perhaps the biggest challenge of the installation were the curved corners, the multiple angles and working in a small space (like the bathroom)

Once the flooring was laid down, the next challenge was installing the finishing trim. This step took as long as the vinyl plank flooring simply based on all the required cuts. While math isn't a strength of mine, I was able to determine the correct angles to cut in order to make the finish trim look nice.

Here is a BEFORE 👆 and AFTER 👇 photo. In the end, we were very pleased with how the flooring came out and we are excited to and happy to finally have the Airstream 100% back together. Now it's time to begin planning our Fall camping trip.

Finally, we want to thank everyone for the continued support to our channel and the Airstream community.
